JAZ & JULS

JAZ AND JUL’S CHOCOLATE HOUSE - www.jazandjuls.co.uk

For those who avoid gluten, you will understand the perils of drinking hot chocolate, but at the far end of Chapel Market, you will find Jaz & Jul’s Chocolate house, a quaint café that serves, you guessed it, (GF) chocolate.

With flavours to tempt every taste bud such as; single origin flakes (ideal for the cocoa purists out there!), an option to add a cheeky shot of liquor (the ultimate boozy treat) or signature blends such as chilli, orange or masala mojo – a chocolate homage to the chai latte – each handmade hot choccy makes you stop for a moment and say “wow”. These luxury hot cups manage to not only be delicate in flavour but dark and indulgent, they cater beautifully to the adult palette.

Certified organic, all the ingredients are ethically sourced and every drink (bar white chocolate) can be made dairy free and vegan, with the use of almond milk, coconut whipped cream and VEGAN MARSHMALLOWS!
The vegan marshmallows (made with caragenan seaweed instead of gelatine) are served as standard and absolutely stunned me; they were light, bouncy, sweet but not too sickly and what treat to be able to safely have them on top of a hot chocolate!

If one chocolate item isn’t enough (is it ever?!) Jaz & Jul’s also serve a gluten free chocolate & coconut tart and for savoury lovers a perfectly spiced farinatta pancake! They also sell 14 of their chocolate mixes to take home and are available at over 100 wholesalers including Selfridges. What’s more J&J are at Broadway Market every Saturday, they are served in a range of coffee shops around London and also appear at festivals in the summer!

It’s safe to say that my gluten free hot chocolate worries are over.
