CARIOCA

Tucked away, in the heart of Brixton you’ll find Carioca, an authentic Brazilian restaurant where your treated like family and fed like royalty.

The food that’s served is fresh, traditional and most importantly very tasty.
Gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu and there is a good range of choice including a roast butternut squash and chorizo salad, Feijoada and Chicken Caipira.
They are also open for brunch and serve a range of traditional Brazilian dishes on a to-die-for homemade maize muffin.

However, for me what sets this vibrant restaurant apart is their starters.
Gluten free EMPANADAS and CALAMARI.
Yes, you did read that correctly… EMPANADAS AND CALAMARI!
They are pure perfection and washed down with a Caipirinha (or 2) you've got a match made in gluten free heaven.

Carioca has also opened in Boxpark Croydon, extending their delicacies to street food. It's young, vibrant and wouldn't disappoint in the favelas of Rio.
